The Blue Mountains is a resort town located at the foot of the Niagara Escarpment where it peels away from Georgian Bay. This home is located at the top of the escarpment on a wooded 15 hectare site that gently slopes from the street to a large several acre pond to the west.

A modern interpretation of the Canadian woodland lodge was the concept for the home, which has sleeping accommodations for 24. The covered entry provides an axial view through the inviting entrance vestibule and foyer to the two-storey sunken Great Hall where a grand fireplace is framed by views of the pond beyond and spectacular sunsets.

The house is organized around a circulation spine, perpendicular to the entrance axis that links the two ends of the house where the primary communal indoor and outdoor spaces are located on the public and active ground floor. A spacious kitchen and glazed dining room wing with views to the woods and the pond are found to the north. A media room and in-law wing are located to the south where the corridor opens onto a sauna and outdoor cabana with change rooms, bar, and large outdoor pool.

The basement is the principal indoor play area with a sports court, rec room and fitness room. The second floor is the private quiet space reached by a glazed stair and has the principal sleeping quarters. The corridor opens up as a continuous balcony overlooking and wrapping around the Great Hall, providing access to exterior elevated decks that are also accessible from the Master Bedroom Suite.

Spacious, bathed in natural light and situated in an idyllic wooded setting with a private pond. It will comfortably accommodate large family groups with ease. This home will be a true multi-generational family lodge.
